Padelio ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by CodeCore (KVK 99831562), the data controller for personal data processed through our Services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our padel tournament management platform, including our website and mobile applications (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from and about users of our Service. Some information is required to provide core account and tournament features (for example account credentials and basic profile details). If you do not provide required information, we may not be able to create or maintain your account or provide specific Service features. Other information is optional (for example marketing preferences and some profile fields).
Personal Information:
- Name, email address, and profile picture (when you create an account)
- Authentication information from third-party providers (Google, Telegram)
- Skill level and playing preferences
- Tournament participation history
- Match scores and statistics
Usage Information:
- Device information (type, operating system, browser)
- Log data (IP address, access times, pages viewed)
- Location data (with your permission) to find nearby tournaments
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
- Error and crash reports (error messages, stack traces, app state at time of error)
- Diagnostic data (app version, screen names, performance metrics)
- User interaction breadcrumbs leading to errors (to help us debug and fix issues)
- Analytics data (app usage patterns, feature interactions, session duration) - you can opt out of this in Privacy Settings
Chat and Communication Data:
- Chat messages you send in tournament conversations
- Message reports you submit
- Users you have blocked
- Chat moderation actions (if you're a tournament organizer)
- Message read receipts and typing indicators
- Chat connection and activity logs
Payment and Subscription Data:
- Subscription status and tier (Free or Pro Organizer)
- Subscription period (start date, end date, renewal status)
- Transaction identifiers from Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe
- Purchase history (product purchased, date, store of origin)
- RevenueCat customer identifier (used to manage your subscription across platforms)
- We do NOT collect or store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment method information — all payment processing is handled entirely by Apple, Google, or Stripe
2. How We Use Your Information
- Legal bases: We process personal data under one or more legal bases depending on context, including contract performance (to provide core app features), consent (for optional features such as marketing communications), legitimate interests (service security, fraud prevention, product improvement), and legal obligations (compliance, tax, dispute handling).

- Send you notifications about matches, tournaments, and updates
- Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience

- Facilitate communication between tournament participants via chat
- Moderate chat content and enforce community guidelines

- Prevent spam, harassment, and abuse in tournament chats
- Allow tournament organizers to moderate their own chats
- Process and manage subscriptions, verify your subscription status, and provide access to subscription-based features
- Maintain purchase and transaction records for accounting, tax compliance, and dispute resolution
- Automated decision-making: We do not make solely automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in these circumstances:
- With other users: Your profile, skill level, and tournament participation are visible to other users. Your chat messages are visible only to participants in the same tournament conversation.
- With tournament organizers: When you join a tournament, organizers can see your profile, statistics, and can moderate chat messages in their tournament conversations (including the ability to delete messages and ban users).
- With service providers: We work with third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including: error tracking and monitoring services (Sentry.io) to detect and fix app crashes and bugs; analytics services (Amplitude) to understand app usage patterns; and subscription management services (RevenueCat) to manage your subscription across platforms. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
- With payment processors: When you purchase a subscription, your payment is processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play), or Stripe (web), depending on your platform. These payment processors handle your payment method details directly — we never receive or store your full credit card or bank account information. Each processor's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.
- Chat data: We do NOT share your chat messages with third parties, except when required by law or to investigate Terms of Service violations. Chat messages are stored securely and only accessible to conversation participants and authorized moderators.
- For legal reasons: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption in transit: All chat messages and data transmissions are encrypted using TLS/SSL
- Access control: Chat messages are only accessible to conversation participants and authorized moderators
- Authentication: Real-time chat connections require secure JWT authentication
- Content moderation: Automatic profanity filtering and user-reporting systems
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and update your profile information at any time
- Delete your account and associated data

6. Data Retention
Account and Tournament Data
We retain your profile information, tournament history, and match results for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.
Subscription and Payment Data
We retain subscription status, transaction identifiers, and purchase history for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years after account deletion or subscription cancellation, as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes. RevenueCat customer identifiers are deleted when your account is deleted.
Chat Messages
Different types of chat data have different retention periods:
- Active messages: Automatically deleted 90 days after being sent
- User-deleted messages: Removed from public view immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days
- Reported messages: May be retained for up to 1 year for moderation and safety purposes
- Moderation records: User bans and warnings are retained for 90 days after expiry
Account Deletion
If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, including:
- All your chat messages (subject to the retention periods above)
- Your profile and settings
- Your chat reports and moderation history
We may retain certain information where we need it for:
- Legal compliance (e.g., tax records, legal disputes)
- Fraud prevention and security
- Enforcing our Terms of Service
- Resolving outstanding disputes or reported content
Your Data Management Rights
You can:
- Delete individual chat messages at any time
- Export your chat data from Profile > Settings > Export My Data
- Request complete data deletion by contacting privacy@padelio.org
- View and manage blocked users in Privacy Settings
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate transfer safeguards such as adequacy decisions and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). You may request information about applicable safeguards by contacting privacy@padelio.org.

11. Tournament Chat
How Chat Works
Our tournament chat feature allows participants to communicate about matches, scheduling, and coordination. Chat is available only to confirmed tournament participants and organizers.
Content Moderation
- Automatic filtering: Profanity and inappropriate language is automatically filtered
- User reports: You can report messages that violate our Community Guidelines
- Organizer moderation: Tournament organizers can delete messages and ban users from their tournament chats
- Platform review: Our team reviews reported content and may take action on violations
What We Do Not Do
- We do NOT read your private messages for advertising or marketing
- We do NOT sell or share your chat data with third parties
- We do NOT use your messages to build profiles for targeted advertising
- We do NOT retain messages indefinitely (90-day automatic deletion)
Your Controls
- Delete messages: Long-press any of your messages and select "Delete"
- Block users: Prevent specific users from contacting you
- Report content: Flag messages that violate guidelines
- Leave conversations: Exit tournament chats at any time
Community Guidelines
By using chat, you agree to:
- Be respectful and kind to all participants
- No harassment, hate speech, or discrimination
- No spam or inappropriate content
- No illegal activity or threats
Violations may result in warnings, chat bans, or account suspension.
GDPR Compliance (EU Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion:
- Your profile and personal information will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- Your chat messages will be deleted according to our retention policy (90 days for active messages, 30 days for user-deleted messages)
- You will appear as "Deleted User" in past tournaments
- Your match history will be anonymized
- Your reports and moderation actions will be retained only as required for legal compliance
- This action cannot be undone
